Introduction
As part of the changes introduced by the new Consumer Duty the FCA expects that all firms will review their people policies to reflect how they have incorporated the changes. This includes your T&C scheme. In this 2 hour workshop we take a closer look at how your T&C schemes might be affected and discuss practical ways of addressing any issues identified.
Workshop Outcomes
- To understand how the new Consumer Duty affects your approach to T&C
- To know why culture plays such an important role and why T&C is affected
- To describe a good consumer outcome
- To understand the relationship between good consumer outcomes and competence
- To be able to define the standards expected of a competent person
- To assess the impact of T&C on people not engaged in Appendix 1 activities
- To identify the impact of consumer biases on your customers and how you should respond
- To be aware of the critical skills to help put your customers in a place to make informed decisions
- To review how all these changes impact upon your Fit and Proper assessments
- To link T&C management information to support board reporting and the importance of an outside in approach
- To review the role of customer coaching in evidencing good consumer outcomes
- To be aware of how all these aspects affect day to day supervision

Easy Booking
Each Summer School workshop is prefixed with a code starting SS. Each SS code is unique to a specific workshop. The (Z) or (T) relates to Zoom or Teams.
Example: SS01 (Z) Getting to grips with T&C Part 1
To enrol for any workshop please email enrol@t-cnews.com from your business email stating the SS number(s) that you would like to attend. Multiple workshops can be booked through the same email. If you are booking multiple delegates please supply their email addresses so we can send joining links.
You can attend any workshop. You will receive a confirmatory email of your booking.
Individual emails will be issued one working day before each event containing the joining link.
How much does it cost to attend?
Nothing! All workshops under the Summer School programme are completely free if you work for an FCA authorised firm thanks to the generous sponsorship of Worksmart.

These events are workshops not webinars. Delegates are asked to have their microphone enabled and ideally their camera engaged. These sessions are not recorded.
You can attend these workshops if you do not work for an FCA authorised firm but will be asked to pay £95+VAT per event.
